Howard and Karen Bosson

Our story

We live in Stockport, which is just South of Manchester. We both work for BT (well they supply us with money so we can enjoy our lifestyle.) One of the greatest pleasures we have is getting Purdey out of the garage and spending time travelling around the country. This often involves visiting the friends we have made since joining the club and enjoying weekends away. Also Karen uses Purdey on an occasional basis as transport to and from work and on her days off.
For several years we have used Purdey as the main transport for our yearly holidays, including a wonderful trip in France. This has only been broken by a trip to the Caribbean and we would have taken her if we could. There are places and people in Great Britain we would never have seen if it hadn't been for the Speedster and we look forward to exploring more of it and meeting more people.

After we'd bought Purdey, we spent almost a year enjoying the pleasure of driving her, before we joined the Speedsters club. We found out about it via the magazines and decided to go down to the Malvern Show (Three Counties Showground) in the September of 1993.

We joined on the Saturday and as we were the only car there on the Sunday we became the club for a day. Talk about a baptism of fire.

Since then we have attended shows too numerous to mention and have made some fantastic friends, which is what we believe belonging to a club is all about. As we'd had so much fun out of the club we decided to put something back and we volunteered to become the clubs Event Administrators. This role, we have just relinquished after 3 hard but fantastic years and we're looking forward to a rest.

It is our intention to keep Purdey and to that end we have a bottom line plan if everything falls apart. This is to sell up and take Purdey, a tent and some bits and pieces and go 'mooching' round Europe and beyond.
Some people may say that we're a little eccentric and others may say we're barmy. All we know is that having a Speedster has changed and vastly improved our lives.

Our thanks go to Porsche for inventing the Speedster and to the various manufacturers who have taken the trouble to replicate them. Thus making a dream more affordable and attainable. Our hats go off to you.
