Trevor Hill - Banham Spyder

I have recently purchased a part complete Banham Spyder

The main reason for buying the car is that I have two sons (Max 11 & George 9) and the youngest is very interested in cars. Building a kit is a very good way of explaining 'hands on' the ins and outs of induction systems, friction, electrickery etc. It also gets us out from the wife's hair.

I have a good idea of what we've let ourselves in for as I built an Apal Speedster around 16 years ago (showing my age here) that I had for 5 years and was a great car. The Banham is relatively cheap and cheerful (as well as a gorgeous shape) and with a couple of 'helpers' I am not expecting it to be a 'concours' example.

Couple of points: The fly-screen, lights, bonnet, clam-shell are all 'perched' on the car (not actually attached). There are major jobs to do; all wiring, break pipes/hydraulics, clutch pipes/hydraulics, engine (no carb, exhaust, cooling system, distributor to put back together) no interior, door locks, body work the list goes on). But don't the wheels look great!!

Should be on the road by next summer.
