My Speedster is looking for an enthusiastic new owner as we are moving overseas. Cream gel coat, black mohair hood. Needless to say road tax exempt. The car has a Toad immobiliser and alarm as well as battery isolation switch. 1971/2 plate.

At present an MOT is needed but no work is required. This car has had little use in the last 3 years (and has been dry stored and never driven in the wet) and has done under 150 miles on the new 1598 cc green Mexican beetle engine through a standard gear box (still running in).

I managed and built the car in 1995/6. This was a total ground up build and every nut and bolt has been replaced or renewed. The car starts every time through its electronic fuel pump which supplies a pair of Dellorto 36 DRLA carburettors.

A well known Surrey VW engineer / builder fitted the engine, gearbox and exhaust. (Gutsy sound).The underside is fully wax oiled from new, never done a wet mile.

Nothing needs doing on the car - but I have not yet set in the oil temp sender to the sump / dash or fitted a CD player.

In describing the drive I would it's very nippy and feels like a TR7, way fast enough. She offers a great opportunity for further improvement if you wish as you could put different legs on (I was thinking of a 'cog box' gearbox, big sump etc) but is a great drive as she is.

The exhaust system is custom built in stainless steel. All running parts are as new, the wheels are refurbished Porsche 914s. The tyres are Dunlop's as original ZXZ to the period as possible and new.

The interior is red leather with cream leatherette seats (which could be changed, I fitted for the hardwaringness). A flat Motolita wheel is fitted with a Gene Berg shift. Fully Porsche badged.

A file of receipts and project work comes with the car.I guarantee that this car is great, however will require you to tinker from time to time as she really runs in!

The car is garaged near Hampton Court / Kingston, Surrey UK. I will take the time with serious enthusiasts.
